-Audre Lorde-

Audre Lorde used her writing and poetry to help shape the feminist movement in the 1960s

Born in 1934, Audre Lorde grew up in a changing America: one that shaped her identity as a Black lesbian woman. As a child she spoke in poetry, and soon brought her artistic gifts to paper. Her poetry, essays, and teachings were foundational to modern feminist theory.
